Minera Los Pelambres is a Mining Contractual Company that is part of Antofagasta Minerals S.A., a mining division of the Antofagasta plc group, one of the ten main copper producers worldwide and the third largest in the country.

The controlling shareholders of Minera Los Pelambres are Antofagasta plc and a consortium of Japanese companies made up of Nippon Mining & Metals, Mitsubishi Materials, Marubeni and Mitsubishi Corp.

Antofagasta plc, through its mining arm Antofagasta Minerals, controls 60% of the property and it is through said company that it administers and controls the management of Minera Los Pelambres.
